Update from our neck of the woods
I have been very very busy the last month and a half. I have been at my mom’s house almost every weekend since Easter just to visit or there were different things going on. We had a Memorial Ride in April with probably 200-250 motorcycles, my parents went on a much needed vacation to Gatlinberg with some family while I stayed with the kids, and I took a train ride to Memphis with my sister and her high school honors program. I has been nice being home with Eric this last weekend!
Eric is coming to the end of the school year and now has to start thinking already what he is going to do for the next year. Please pray for direction and peace about whatever God wants for Eric to do. I still enjoy the chemo center although I am really looking forward to our vacation. We are leaving on the 1st of June and it seems so close yet there is so much to get through to get there!
My brother’s best friend in the Marines, Lcpl Ben Desilets, was killed in Iraq on Tuesday. He was on his second tour. The humvee he was in was hit by an IED, a bomb. One other was killed and one injured. He was from near Peoria, IL and has a 3 year old daughter. He will be missed, but never forgotten!!!! I am also asking for your prayers for his family because I remember exactly what it feels like to be where they are. It has been a tough week having to deal with some of the same emotions all over again. I am not sure if any of his family are believers, but I want to pray for strength and for a peace that I know is there, but will take some time for the family to hold on to it Thank you!
