So our busy weekend started Friday morning at 4:37 AM when we were awakened by the earthquake. We woke up to the bed shaking, the small shelves on my dresser shaking and the metal organizer on Eric’s dresser rattling. I have never been in an earthquake before so needless to say I was pretty scared! It felt like waves of shaking and it only lasted about 30 seconds. Eric stayed calm the whole time and so when it was over I quickly fell back to sleep! The earthquake was definitely the "talk of the day."
Saturday we drove to go see Eric’s grandma, who was visiting his Uncle Jim, Aunt Kylene, cousins Cindy and Amy and their new little ones, Hannah and Andrew. It was wonderful to see his Grandma! I never realized how lucky I was having so many grandparents living. I guess I always just took it for granted. Spending time with her and getting to see Eric and her together really makes me that much more thankful for the blessings of my grandparents!
It was also great to see Uncle Jim, Aunt Kylene, Cindy and Amy. We don’t get to visit with Eric’s side of the family as much as we would like. Hannah and Andrew were really really cute! It is amazing the difference in development in just a couple of months. Hannah is 4 1/2 months and Andrew is 2 months. I could have held them and just loved them the whole time!!!
Sunday was a day of church and relaxation! It was quite nice!

It is finally starting to feel like spring here. It was so beautiful today with sunshine, trees and flowers blooming and Eric’s allergies starting to kick in! I was really starting to feel the effects of the long winter. I need sunshine and warmth!!! We took a long walk today and it was nice being outside and together.
Our update:
The end of March marked another St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) auction. I was in charge of all the volunteers as well as the check-in/check-out tables. It was a fun, but tiring time! I would not have been able to get through it without Eric, my Mom, my sister and my friend, Lori. They really helped me out!!! I suddenly felt lighter when the auction was over! It was quite nice. Now I actually have some extra time in my life.
We had a nice, but quick Easter at home with my family. We went to church with my family and it was great to spend some time with them. It seems like everyone is so busy and it usually takes a lot of effort to slow down, but the results are always worth it.
We just had a visit from Eric’s mom, Jennie. It was really nice to see her as well. She is always such a blessing to me as an example of Christ’s love and encouargement.
Not sure how my title played into this post, but one my goals for spring is to refresh/renew areas of my life so I guess it works somehow!
