So I was going to post this sooner, but our internet was shut off for a few days because of the move.
Last Friday we were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time! I was amazing. I almost couldn’t believe it at first! We even have a recording of the heartbeat on my phone! I have been making everyone at work listen to it!
Then we spent a wonderful weekend visiting Eric’s brother, Brian; his wife, Val; and their three amazing kids, Caleb, Toby and Ellie. It was great to spend time with them. One of my favorite things is being an aunt!
On Tuesday Eric along with three friends and my family moved us to our new apartment. We still have a few things and cleaning to do over at the old apartment and we are slowly getting settled into our new apartment. I don’t necessarily like the moving part, but I am super excited about making this our new home and preparing it for the baby!

So, it has been over a week since I have been back from my vacation, but I figured that posting late is better than never! Things have just been so busy!
The first part of the vacation we drove down to Lake of the Ozarks and camped in a Yurt. No it is not a Dr. Seuss character! It is "a circular structure with a fabric cover, much like a tent, and a wooden frame making it strong and weathertight. It sits on a wooden platform with decking and has a locking door. There are three large windows to enjoy the view and a dome skylight that can be opened for ventilation." (MO State Parks) It was a lot of fun! As you know we are usually tent campers, but there were storms forcasted and I just didn’t feel up to being stuck in the little tent in a thunderstorm. It was a great choice because it did rain and we had plenty of room! Eric is working on getting the pictures off his camera so as soon as he is finished I will be sure to get them up in the gallery. It was such a nice time with just the two of us.
For the last few days of my vacation I went to my mom’s house. Eric had to work so he didn’t get to go. It was great being at home. I got to swim, hang out with Rachel and John, and have my mom take care of me for a while! Eric has been soo wonderful through first trimester pregnancy stuff, but there is nothing like Mom’s cooking and having your mom take care of you!
We also celebrated our 4th anniversary. I can’t believe that it has been four years already! Time has gone by so fast and I am looking forward to the many more years we will have together!
