Eric and Krystal

I took Olivia to the doctor yesterday because she has just not been herself lately. She has been congested for a little while and we thought it was just allergies, with the weather changing. On Monday, the congestion turned green, she became fussy and had a hard time nursing! She has a sinus infection and an ear infection…our poor baby! She never had a fever, pulled on her ears, and she didn’t really act sick! Now I know how she likes to be tough! She is on an antibiotic and we think we can tell a difference in one day!!!

So to answer Cindy and Mindy. Olivia is now 8 months old and she is not walking…yet. She pulls up on everything and she is walking around the coffee table now! She has tried a couple of times to stand in the middle of the room, but she has only stood on her own once. We don’t think she realized it though! She has started bouncing on one knee and a foot like she is trying to stand up!!! It is pretty cute!!!

A couple of stories to show how Olivia is developing quite a personality. On two separate car trips where she has been fussy she pulled out her pacifier, let out one big scream and then put her pacifier back in! She waited about 5-10 minutes and she tried again! During the same car ride they came to a stop light. Eric looked over to the car next to him to see a burly, gruff-looking man making “googly faces.” Eric looked back at Olivia to see her with her pacifier out and smiling at the man!

On August 30th our small group got together after church and went to a local lake for sailing. Our friends, Jerry and Karen, have a sailboat, or catamaran. Eric has been sailing before, but this was a first for Olivia and I! It was a lot of fun!!! Olivia looked very cute in the little life jacket although it didn’t look very comfortable.

Olivia liked putting her feet and then her hands into the water. All with me holding on to her…of course! There was an opening in the middle of the mesh bottom where she could see the water.
